Creating Migration Reports

Migrating from one affiliate network to another can be a significant undertaking, but Affluent can help make this transition less painful by providing you with helpful tools to track the progress of the migration. Here are two ways you can track a migration within Affluent:

Create a Custom Migration Report:

**Before creating a report, make sure you have the brand connected to both networks within the Brand Manager section in Affluent. Refer to this article for more information.

You can create custom metrics to build a report showing clicks, orders, revenue, and other actions by network.

For example, if you are migrating from Awin to impact.com you can create a report showing how many clicks and orders are coming from Awin versus those coming from impact.com. Here's how to do this:

1) Create a new table report from the Reports section in Affluent.

2) Choose "Publisher" as the category. (You could also add "Referral URL" or "Referring Domain" as categories as well.)

3) Create custom metrics to track how many actions have been taken on each network. (Awin vs impact.com in this example). Within the Metrics section click "Add Custom Metric":

If you want to track clicks across both platforms you can create a metric similar to this for both Awin and Impact. Name the metric (including the network in the name), then choose "Clicks" as the metric in the Calculation section.

Add a Metric Filter:

Add a filter to make this specific to one platform.

This will now create a custom filter that only shows Clicks on Awin. Repeat the same process (creating a new custom metric) for clicks on impact.com. Then continue to create metrics for different actions, such as Awin Revenue, impact.com Revenue, etc.

4) Add these metrics to a report and easily see if publishers have switched their links over yet:

Tracking Links within Link Scanner

Another way to track migrations is through a Link Scanner report.

1) Create a scan using your top performing referral URLs ("I have my own list of pages...")

2) Run the scan and click into the scan report.

3) Filter the results to only show affiliate links that are pointing to your brand domain, at the top of the report. Focus on the "Network" column.

  • Before the migration, this column will only show the old network.
  • During the migration, you will see a split between the old and new networks.
  • By the end of migration, the ‘Network’ column should only show links on the new network.
